Leaving Victoria Station immediately to the left is an Underground entrance.
I was waiting for a recent walk to start there and suddenly noticed that metal panels surrounding them had a pattern on them.
I thought it was a simple regular pattern then looked more closely.
I suddenly realised that this may in fact be a secret message, a code – could it even be in braille?
I took more photographs and forgot about it until today, when I thought let’s have a try.
Can you believe it, this is really braille, and it carries a message?!
I’ve only decoded one page, but the text reads:
LTON ROAD WI
WILTON ROAD
text is truncated
WILTON ROAD
Undecipherable (not braille – maybe these are backwards letters?)

WILTON ROAD
LTON ROAD WI

Here is my annotated copy.
Wilton Road is the road just next to Victoria Station, so that makes sense, but all the rest I have no idea about, does anyone else?
I have checked online about this, and one person on twitter has asked if this is braille, but that is it so perhaps I am the first person to notice and decode it, but it is a great mystery.
The really strange thing to me is that it would be virtually impossible for any blind person who reads braille to firstly be aware that this is here and secondly read it at all, since the letters are mounted high up on a very tall wall.
Extraordinary!
